This course supports the Occupational Certificate: Home Based Personal Care Worker, SAQA ID 104792, NQF Level 3.

The programme prepares learners to provide supervised care and support to patients, families and household members in home-based and community-based care settings. Learners develop the knowledge, practical skills and workplace experience needed to promote comfort, dignity, safety, health and independence for people receiving care.

The course includes knowledge learning, practical skills development, workplace-based learning activities, formative assessments, practical evidence activities and portfolio requirements. Learners will work through topics such as home-based care principles, communication, person-centred support, care planning, basic practical care, monitoring, referrals, record keeping and participation in the care team.

Successful completion of the required course activities and workplace evidence supports learner readiness for the prescribed external integrated summative assessment process.

Basic Emergency First Aid Responder Short Course 2026

This course includes the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, how to manage the incident, casualty and other first aiders until the arrival of emergency medical assistance. It is the first of 3 levels of first aid and is known as basic first aid.

At the end of the presentation there is a quiz that can be completed on moodle. There is also a written test to be printed from the dashboard, completed and emailed back. This must be done before your practical session in a weeks time.

Orientation: Sisters

Welcome to the orientation course that is to be completed by all Nursing supervisors joining La Vie Care group.

This course should  be completed within your first week of employment.

In the content we will cover what La Vie Group stands for and will give you the information you need to work with confidence in anyone of our exceptional facilities.

Once your probation period is complete, it is requested that you familiarise yourself with the carer course level 1 for supervisory purposes.
